Subject: Building a Wall Against Hunger
Message: Helping Hand of the Heartland, North Hardin Hope, Feeding America - Kentucky’s Heartland, and the Heartland Chambers Alliance are joining together to complete an unprecedented task to unite our community while feeding the hungry and honoring Vietnam Veterans at the same time! How we are going to do this is the unique part! Canned food donations will be used to build a wall that replicates the Vietnam Veterans memorial. An additional mission is to break the current Guinness World record (115,527) for the “largest canned food structure” while feeding the hungry and uniting the community. Community, individual, and business contributions are vital to achieving this goal of “Building a Wall Against Hunger.” Construction of the wall will begin on August 16 and will be completed on August 21 to become a part of the Heartland Festival on August 26-28. It will be located at the Magnet Business Park, 1201 North Dixie Avenue (the former Cott Beverage Building). How can you help? You can drop off canned goods at our Quicksie 98.3 studio, 233 West Dixie Avenue in Elizabethtown, Monday through Friday from 8a to 5p.
